Our Approach
My approach to family support has been shaped by the dozens of individuals and families I had the privilege to serve and learn from during my years as professional in community mental health services. If you are coming to me for support, I want you to know some of the beliefs I have about you from before we even meet:
-
I believe in your love for each other and your desire to see your situation change for the better.
-
I believe you are each doing the best that you can right now, even if it doesn't feel that way to everyone.
-
I believe we can discover common ground, common goals, and in doing so, we can rediscover connection that may have been lost.
-
I believe you can do this! My job is simply to provide you with the space and some tools to help you get going in the right direction.
There many, many resources available for individuals and families to learn about their diagnosis or area of concern and many options for treatment and support. It can be very overwhelming if you are doing the research on these topics, especially without prior experience. My hope is to provide a personalized experience for each family I meet, to connect you to the information and resources you're actually looking for and support you in accessing and applying it effectively.
